Rooted: From Performance to Presence — A Journey Back to the Heart of God
Introduction: Rooted, Not Rushed
Sis, if the year already feels like a weight — you are not alone.
Between political unrest, relational fatigue, and the quiet battles no one sees, many of us are moving through life in survival mode. As Black women, we often feel the pressure to keep performing strength, even when our souls are bone-tired.
But here’s the truth:
You were never meant to survive on your own strength.
That’s why this season on Sister Soul Care, we’re shifting away from hustle and high expectations. Instead, we’re slowing down with a sacred invitation:
Rooted: From Performance to Presence — a 4-part journey to help you name where you are, release what you can’t carry, receive God’s restoration, and reimagine what a life rooted in love could look like.
This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about sinking deeper — into truth, into rest, into real presence with God.
The Rooted Journey — Each episode is a contemplative experience, guiding you into rest, reflection, and real connection with God. It follows a gentle rhythm I call Embodied Contemplation — a soulful blend of breath, honesty, scripture, and healing. Here’s a glimpse of our journey together:
Week 1: Rooted in Reality
What is true for you right now?
We begin by naming what’s real. Not what sounds good. Not what looks strong. What’s true.
This episode offers space to identify where you are tired, where you’re holding back, and where your soul needs tending. You’ll be invited to speak honestly with God about your life — no shame, no judgment.
Reflection:
Where am I right now, really?
What kind of exhaustion am I carrying?
What do I need from God that I haven’t yet voiced?
⸻
Week 2: Rooted in Release
What do you need to let go of to breathe again?
Before something new can grow, something old must go. In this episode, we reflect on sacred surrender — releasing what’s choking the life out of us. That might mean letting go of old roles, survival strategies, or toxic expectations.
You’ll be guided through a practice of spiritual pruning — not as punishment, but as permission to be free.
Reflection:
What am I holding that’s no longer life-giving?
What fear or pressure is God inviting me to release?
⸻
Week 3: Rooted in Restoration
What does healing look like for you now?
This week, we shift from doing to receiving. We name the parts of us that still ache and trust God’s presence to tend to us — gently and slowly. Restoration is about more than bouncing back. It’s about being made whole.
You’ll be invited to imagine rhythms of rest, joy, and care that nourish you at the root level.
Reflection:
What in me needs to be gently restored?
What helps me feel safe, grounded, and whole?
⸻
Week 4: Rooted in Re-imagination
What kind of life are you being invited to grow into?
We close the series by dreaming again — not fantasy, but faithful visioning. You’ll be invited to write your own prayer, mantra, or declaration of the life you want to live with God.
This is about planting seeds. Blessing the soil. Trusting that new life can grow in you, too.
Reflection:
What new story is God inviting me to believe?
What would it look like to flourish — for real?
